Farouk Haruna

Fund Raising and Consulting

Farouk left Ghana for the UK to further his education in Accountancy and Finance in the summer of 1995. This led him to a career with a Marine Consultancy as an accountant. 3 years later, he got bored with currency conversions and balancing books and decided he needed a career that involved interacting more with people. He went back to studying and qualified as a Financial Adviser. He joined a city firm back in 1999 and in 2002 became one of the founding partners of Perfect Day, an innovative company in financial services. He currently runs a small team of consultants who give advice in all areas of finance from the mundane; Savings and Investments, Pensions, Insurances and Mortgages to the more exciting; Film Partnerships, Life Settlements, DRYVACs, SIPPs and Tax Mitigation.

“My first experience of anything charitable was watching my mum, as a little boy; help others out of the kindness of her heart for nothing in return. Sometimes even, putting their needs before hers. It never made much sense to me until about 5 years ago when by accident, it just clicked. I was cornered into carrying out a charitable act which I didn’t really want to do but couldn’t come up with an excuse quickly enough. The good feeling I felt afterwards made me want to do it again and I volunteered the second time. I have since been involved in several charities. I carry out consulting work for over 10 BME charities and sit on the board of 3”.

“ I am very passionate about KBFF and I believe that, with the right strategy, which we have, we will eventually get to the stage where no child is kept even for a night unnecessarily at Korle Bul and eventually in all hospitals across Ghana”.
